The photos presented
here were taken with a digital camera in New York City on an overcast day
in September 2000. The photographer has attempted to use the flat background
of the sky to illuminate something of the complexity of the city's geometry.
Although each built element is often not elaborate in its own singular geometry,
a combination of elements can be startlingly sculptural as a whole; particularly
when the profile is viwed against the sky. The last photo, has been digitally
edited, to highlight the sculptural form of this jagged edge.
