Vote to get out

Can you believe that under 50% of American's cast their vote in this election? Is there any worse symptom of cultural malaise than a society which flaunts its economic prowess while at the same time it eschews the most basic tenet of its Democratic Society?

I have a solution, and I'm sure it will work; its called positive reinforcement:

Congress should pass a new law which relieves individuals who vote in presidential elections from having to serve jury duty. Certainly a jury pool of 100-million individuals [this year's non-voters] is sufficient to satisfy our country's judicial requirements. We must all do our part to set the course for our Nation. Serving as a juror is a cornerstone of our Republic, and represents an important way in which the citizens in the United States of America contribute to the evolution and implementation of the law in this society. Well, I voted. I did my part. And that's more than I can say for 100-million "citizens" of this country who take this important right for granted. Lets put them to work.

Voters everywhere: petition your Congressman or Congresswoman on this issue. Give yourselves a pat on the back for exercising your right to vote. And in the process, you will provide some members of our society with a motivation to stop thinking only about themselves, and do something for the common good.
